MACHINING OF
SAPPHIRE-RUBY

The Rubis Precis / Micropierre Group use diamond tooling to produce technical components of high precision in synthetic Sapphire and Ruby which are the hardest materials in the world after diamond (hardness up to 1900 Vickers).

Advantages of hard materials : Sapphire and Ruby

Sapphire is scratchproof , resistant to acids and bases, biocompatible, transparent to ultra-violet, infra-red and visible spectrum.

The high precision components in Sapphire and Ruby have varied applications, notably in various instruments for measurements ( low coefficient of friction ) , optics, fibre optics, medical and research laboratories.
